I've tried assigning a static IP, DHCP, etc etc, but my mac just says it has a self-assigned IP, even when using DHCP (even after setting it and rebooting, hard or soft). Quite frankly I'm stumped.
His xbox will connect when plugged directly into the router via ethernet, but no t via my or his mac. Any ideas?
I used the Krazyie SC exploit, kept the original HD, and have the latest version of XBMC (actually the one that was released two weeks ago, not yesterday, as I haven't had time to update..)
Any help would be great, thanks everyone.

My response is perfectly legitimate given the lack of logistical information (i.e. "I can't connect it directly because ___") and the purvasive and cheap nature of modern networking gear.
The majority of help posts I've seen from you have a 'holier-than-though' kind of attitude, and I'm sick of it. If you want to help me, then help. If you want to make cheeky comments and be an asshole, then do it to one of your brain dead friends if you have any. Stop wasting bandwidth with your bullshit.
Fuck off man.
I've got a router, and it's on the second floor of my house, making it very inconvenient to drill through the floor to the first, or getting a million foot ethernet cable.
That being said...
Thanks for the reply, max0r. I will grab a crossover and see if that helps my cause. I really appreciate you giving me something I hadn't thought of, and welcome to the forum.
